Hi Everyone!
Sorry i know its been a while, been busy exploring our new home here on the Gold Coast. Ill give some updates and a few pictures that we have.....
Our apartment is lovely, been enjoying our home cooked meals on our balcony overlooking the ocean, feels like home! Surfers Paradise is great, its a city on the ocean. Lots going on all the time, people everywhere, bars, shops, anything you need! The beach is wonderful as well, waves are HUGE, sand soft, water refreshing! We have seen some volleyball tournaments on the beach, sandcastle competitions, and tons and tons or surfers! A short walk down the beach is Broadbeach which is a great area as well. Lots of restaurants and shops again.
On monday we took our first Surf Lesson, it was so much fun! Since then we havent stopped surfing! Monday night our friend Joe, who we met in Thailand, drove down from north australia and stayed the night with us. THe next day we woke up and we took his "Hippie Van" down to Byron Bay which was perfect! Small backpackers town with cute shops and cafe's. We surfed all day, the water was beautiful, then enjoyed Valentines Day on the beach in Byron Bay. Kev got a bottle or Champagne for us and we watched the sun go down while sipping on the Champagne. Chatting about how lucky we are to be where we are! That night we met back up wtih Joe and explored the night life in Byron Bay. THere was an interesting "Prom Night" at one of the bars and it was hilarious. Everyone was dressed up, good time! We stayed the night and the next day enjoyed Byron Bay for the day and went back up to Surfers that evening.
Yesterday we made the plunge and we bought our very own Surfboards!!!!! Huge smiles on both of our faces the entire day just thinking about it. We got to customize them a bit as well, they look great. We now said that we have to make it part of our everyday schedule to go every single day no excuses! THey came with bags as well so that we can bring them back home with us to surf down Cape, OB we will be joining you on your trips down south for a day of surfing!!!
